Hawaii public schools must offer sex ed
As of last week, all public schools in Hawaii are required to provide comprehensive sexuality education. Parents are allowed to opt out of the program for their children. This is a shift from allowing each school to decide independently on whether to offer the class.
Teen birth rate continues to decline
Recently reported drops in teen abortion rate are coupled by a recent report that teen birth rates are also dropping. Rates have dropped a whopping 61% since the historic teen birth rate high in 1991.
Chlamydia and Gonorrhea tests delivered to your front door
Planned Parenthood has a new app that allows residents of California to order the two tests to their front door for $149. The orderer can take a urine sample, mail it back, and receive their results discretely via the app. A doctor an order a prescription based on the results. If the roll-out is successful, Planned Parenthood will expand to other regions.
